What file format is used for the online content? Do I need special software?
The chapters are available online in PDF format. Each chapter is available as an individual file, and access to all of the chapters is unlimited for premium subscribers. To view the chapters, you must have Adobe Acrobat. It is free and available to download online.
Where is all the great interactive content?
Stay tuned! We will be introducing new features in weeks and months to come. Soon, authors will be able to post articles and blogs, and subscribers will be invited to participate in discussions. Subscribers (standard as well as premium) will be kept up to date on new features as we add them.
What's the difference between a "standard" subscription and a "premium" subscription?
The "standard" subscription is free. You must register as a subscriber to view the chapter excerpts and authors' postings as well as participate in online discussions. The premium subscription gives you access to all features of the site, including the entire contents of Internet Gambling Report, updates to the report and archived chapters from editions no longer in print. Click here for a detailed comparison of the two subscription levels.
How do I subscribe?
We've tried to make it as easy as possible. First, go to the sign-up page and fill out and submit our very short online form for a standard subscription. You are now registered as a standard subscriber and can access all the features available to standard subscribers. Those wishing to sign up for a premium account can move on to step 2, our secure payment form. A standard subscriber can upgrade to a premium subscription at any time. If you have any questions, call us at +1 636 946 0820.
Can I still purchase IGR in print?
Yes, the eleventh edition, released in October 2008, is currently available for sale online. Those who subscribe to the online service can purchase Internet Gambling Report - Eleventh Edition at an 80% discount. Click here for ordering information.
What's new in the eleventh edition?
The eleventh edition features 25 updated chapters, four brand new chapters and four new authors. For details, click here to download the table of contents.
Can I view samples?
Yes, but you must register as a subscriber. Standard subscriptions are free. Once you've logged in as a subscriber, you can download and view as many excerpts as you wish.
Why can't I view the chapters or excerpts?
You must be signed in as a standard-level subscriber to view the excerpts. You must be signed in as a premium-level subscriber to view the full chapters.
Is the online content different from the content of the print publication?
The core content is the same, but the online service offers more. For starters, all authors are invited to update their chapters as often as they like. Subscribers, therefore, do not need to wait for the 12th edition to read updates, and they will be notified whenever a chapter is updated. In addition to this, the Web site features several chapters from previous editions that are no longer in print. Each edition features new chapters, so unfortunately certain chapters are dropped to make room for the new ones. The omitted chapters are all available online to subscribers. Finally, we have welcomed authors of omitted chapters to make updates for the Web site, so there will also be updated chapters that are only available online.
Is there any reason to purchase both the print and the online version?
In many cases, it is personal preference, but both versions have their advantages. The advantages of the online services are outlined above. The print version, of course, gives you an indexed reference guide at your fingertips. All of the material is in front of you; there's no need for navigating through a Web site; and the contents are available in the absence of laptop computers and access to the Internet.
